Genzyme in India

Who We Are

Recognized as one of the industry's most generous in-kind givers, Genzyme provides free treatment to hundreds of patients in need each year.

Serious diseases do not discriminate; they affect people from all walks of life and in all economic circumstances. For that reason, Genzyme recognizes that our responsibility to the patient community does not end with simply developing effective therapies. We are also committed to helping those therapies reach patients, regardless of their ability to pay, by sponsoring a variety of free drug programs.

In India, we started providing therapy, free of cost, to patients from 1999 onwards, even though we started our operations in 2008. Currently, over 100 patients are benefitting from the therapies being provided under our charitable access program – INdia Charitable Access Program (INCAP), for Gaucher disease, Pompe disease, Fabry disease and MPS I disease. The program is guided by an expert medical committee that remains closely involved in participating patients' care and progress.
